Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)

for you and your horse!

About PEMF Technology

The PEMF works by sending magnetic pulses that stimulate cellular repair. Diseased and damaged cells have an altered charge called rest potential, and their ion channels are influenced by the magnetic pulses. These pulses encourage the exchange of oxygen, proteins, and electrolytes through cell membranes, which improves circulation and reduces pain.

After experiencing miraculous healing thanks to a borrowed Centurion PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields) unit, I knew this therapeutic tool had to be a part of my program.

I went from barely being able to walk with painful toe blisters triggered by vasospasms to being pain free after the first hour on the PEMF. Within a few days of frequent use, my condition resolved. A mare at Sage Knoll Farm with hind end lameness found herself unable to lie down and after just a few days of repeated PEMF use, resumed getting down and back up to roll, rest, and sleep. As a postural rehabilitation specialist, I know quite a bit about how bodies work, and how they heal. The rapid and dramatic results I got using the PEMF defied my understanding of what was possible. Now Equine Connection Freelance Training proudly offers PEMF treatments to both equine and human students.

Before and after autoimmune toe flare. On the left I’m experiencing blistering and severe nerve pain. The photo on the right is 18 hours later, after using the PEMF for 1 hour. Nerve pain went away, normal vasculature resumed in my toes, and the fluid drained.

Our 9PH unit has 3 levels of intensity and 3 frequencies. We have a hoof plate for your horse to stand on with both front or both hind feet at a time. I’ve seen incredible results for tender, laminitic feet. We also have 2 spats which can be used as leg wraps or applied to any part of the horse or human body.

If your horse has pain, inflammation, or acute injury (including skin issues), PEMF treatments can get your horse to faster results. I’ve seen clients use this same unit to heal broken bones— it just doesn’t seem possible!

By integrating treatments in my regular lessons and training sessions, you and I don’t have to spend extra time to get your horse feeling better faster.

PEMF Treatment Options

At Sage Knoll Farm

Sage Knoll Farm boarders enjoy half hour PEMF sessions during their lessons and training sessions for only $20, or during their horse’s supplement mealtimes for $35.

If you trailer into Sage Knoll Farm for your sessions, you will receive boarder-prices of $20/ half hour session.

At your farm

My travel clients have the opportunity to add PEMF treatment during their lessons and training sessions for only $25. Standing on the hoof plate or placing the spats on the horse’s body is easy to add to the grooming and standing in-hand work time so long as we have access to a power outlet. Standing on the hoof plate is essentially therapeutic stationary target training.

Please let me know in advance if you would like to add PEMF treatments to your lessons or training sessions in advance so I can be sure I have the equipment with me.
